|No matter what accessory you choose, our medical alert devices are all convenient, secure and wearable. Our home pendant and wristband alert buttons are small (one inch long by a half inch wide) and lightweight (less than 2 ounces). On-the-Go devices are slightly larger (three inches by one-and-a-half inches) but still very lightweight (2.3 ounces) and easily wearable. Our pendants, bracelets, wristbands, and belt adapters are also showerproof, humidity-resistant, and pacemaker-compatible.
More than size and specifications, however, each type of accessory has its own pros and cons. Some devices will undoubtedly be better for you than others based on your lifestyle, medical alert features, and personal preferences. Many seniors, especially those with active lifestyles and serious medical concerns, may find a combination of accessories will work best.
Types of Devices
- Pendants: One of our most popular medical alert accessories, pendants can be used for Home and On-the-Go systems. We also have two pendant accessories for our medical alert and fall detection technology. Small enough to wear around your neck and easy to access in pretty much any situation, these pendants are a good place to start if you’re not sure what type of device is right for you.
- Necklaces: Don’t like the feel of a pendant beneath your clothes, but don’t like the look of the device above your clothes, either? A stylish necklace with an embedded medical alert button is probably the answer for you. There are a couple drawbacks to these necklaces. For one thing, they can’t hold our fall detection technology. For another thing, the magnetic safety clasp should not be used with a pacemaker. Our selection of stylish necklaces is periodically updated, so check our main page of alert device accessories for available products.
- Wristbands and Bracelets: Wristbands are a comfortable, stylish way to carry a medical alert button with you. Check out our soft silicone wristband as well as bolder varieties of blue and purple. Perhaps the biggest downside to using a wristband is that you can’t use it for fall detection. Swinging arms create too many false signals to distinguish from falling. We also have an Alarm Bracelet as well as large and small Medical ID Bracelets. These medical bracelets have a built-in panel to hold all your pertinent medical information.
- Belt Adapters: This accessory offers a protective case with a Velcro loop that allows you to wear our On-the-Go medical alert on your belt. Many people find this option to be a comfortable and discreet way to carry medical alerts, especially for On-the-Go alert technology. The belt adapter doesn’t prohibit you from taking the lanyard out and wearing the device as a pendant when desired.
