Hit the beach
Summer is here! Take a trip to the sandy shores and enjoy a day in the sunshine. Just remember to stay properly hydrated out there. Many beaches are known for having fireworks displays at night, so stick around and watch the magic.
Have a picnic
Take a trip to the park, the mountains, or a lake, and feast on some traditional 4thof July grub. Bring the family and make it a party! Keep the grandkids busy with games like 4thof July trivia or a scavenger hunt.
Take a trip to a lake
There is nothing like spending the 4thof July boating with family and friends. Between swimming, tubing, barbequing, and fireworks there are a ton of fun ways to spend your day at the lake. You can take your mobile alert button as it’s waterproof and provides lifesaving coverage on the go.
Have Some All American Fun

Watch a parade
In 1776, John Adams wrote that the 4thof July, “ought to be solemnized with pomp and parade, with shows, games, sports, guns, bells, bonfires and illuminations from one end of this continent to the other, from this time forward forever more.” America has been living up to those expectations ever since. Whether you’re a senior in a small town or a big city, there is likely to be a local parade near you.
Have an all American barbeque
Get the grill going and throw on some hot dogs, burgers, barbeque chicken, and ribs! Chow down on some 4thof July favorites like baked beans, potato or macaroni salad, coleslaw and deviled eggs.
Enjoy a baseball game
Enjoy America’s most beloved sport this 4thof July. Come out and support a major league, minor league or even a grandchild’s t-ball league. Nothing says all American like going to a baseball game, eating a hot dog and drinking some beer. If you are feeling adventurous organize your own baseball game and let the games begin!
Go to a concert
Kick back, grab a beer, and listen to some tunes at a concert! Bring the family, a blanket and some chairs and you’re ready to go. Many local concerts are very affordable and have activities for all ages in addition to the music. Check out the art booth, face painting, and food vendors to have a day full of fun.
Watch a fireworks show
Nothing says 4thof July like fireworks. Light up some sparklers and enjoy in your driveway or check out your city’s firework show. Be safe and make sure fireworks are not illegal in your area. Stake out the perfect spot to enjoy the show and watch the night sky light up in celebration. And while you’re out, keep your home free from a pyrotechnic disaster with our monitored smoke alarm.
