7 Tips To Look Stunning At Any Age

No matter how old you are, there are always ways to keep yourself looking stunning. Here are 7 tips Alert1 thinks will help you look amazing and feel even better!

1. Work it out!

When you work out, your body creates endorphins. Endorphins are hormones that your brain produces. Exercise can boost your feel-good endorphins and relieve stress from your daily life. The oxygenated blood from your workout also brightens your skin and lowers cortisol levels, reducing wrinkles.

In addition to looking better, you will also feel better. When you feel better, you will glow from the inside out.

2. Stay safe in the sun!

Always wear sunscreen (SPF 30 or higher) to protect your skin from harmful rays. It is better to use a moisturizer/sunscreen combination on your face, neck and chest because this skin is more sensitive than other areas.

 If you love the look of golden skin, skip the tanning beds or laying out in the scorching sun. Opt for a self-tanner with moisturizer. This means you will have a lovely golden glow while keeping your skin supple and moisturized. 

3. Drink water!

Keeping your body hydrated is one of the most beneficial things you can do for your health and your beauty. When you don’t drink enough water, you digestive system suffers. The movement of food in your intestines slows down.  This means the waste stays in your body longer than it should. Toxins from the waste can clog your pores and cause dull, dry skin and acne. Stay hydrated, keep your skin clear.

Avoid soda. Soda is very high in sugar and causes insulin spikes. Not only is soda bad for your waistline, it is also terrible for your skin and overall health. Plus, it is much more fun to eat your calories than to drink them.

4. Sleep!

Doctors suggest getting 7 to 9 hours of sleep every night. When you are tired, your blood doesn’t flow as well as it should, which causes inflammation. Sleep also reduces stress, which in turn reduces acne and prevents the dreaded under-eye bags.

If you really want to go the extra mile, try out a silk pillow case. Silk pillowcases benefit your hair and your skin. This fabric won’t tangle your hair the way cotton pillowcases do. Plus, your skin will benefit from the amino acids that occur naturally in silk.

5. Eat right!

Skip the sugar. Avoid processed foods and drinks, as well as simple carbohydrates like white bread. These foods create inflammation. Inflammation breaks down collagen and elastin, resulting in sagging skin and wrinkles.

Fruits and vegetables have a positive impact on your skin. Berries, broccoli, sweet potatoes and tomatoes are all great ways to ingest antioxidants. Antioxidants limit the “bad guys” in your system that damage skin cells, which reduce the signs of aging. Better yet, antioxidants can also help to prevent cancer!

The healthy fats found in almonds, avocados, olive oil and salmon also play a huge part in keeping your skin glowing and hydrated. By consistently eating healthy foods, you’re taking the next step to looking and feeling great for the rest of your life.

6. Moisturize every day!

Keeping your skin moisturized helps your skin stay elastic for longer. More elasticity means less wrinkles! When moisturizing, choose a lotion that is made specifically for the face with SPF 15 or higher. You should also try to shop for a moisturizer that is made specifically for your skin type. For example, if your skin is oily, look for lotions instead of creams. This will help excess oil buildup.

Moisturizing the rest of your body will also help you keep you looking stunning no matter what are you are. Try and moisturize after you get out of the shower. This will help you create a habit.

7. Enjoy the things and people you love!

Smiling not only brightens your face, but it strengthens the muscles that will keep your skin from sagging further down the road. If something makes you happy, do it! I am getting to that age where getting exercise is almost impossible. I get off work and go home to cook for my family. Finding daily exercise is a challenge. But after reading this article I definitely should find some time to work out. It'll eventually help me out in the long run.
