2014 was a spectacular year for Alert1. There was significant membership growth and increased member satisfaction.

In 2014 we launched two new products: our Fall Detection Medical Alert and our Kelsi Mobile Medical Alert.  New and existing customers love both senior medical alert systems and they have been flying off the shelves!

We are proud to say that 2014 was the year full of More Tomorrows for independent seniors. Alert1 is excited to keep protecting our members and delivering exceptional service for years to come.

Continuing to Support Aging in Place

Alert1 is devoted to the Aging in Place Movement. We provide the technology and resources to help older adults enjoy the freedom of living in their own home. Our intelligent and compassionate team is dedicated to outstanding senior care.

Alert1 strives to stay at the forefront of our industry by harnessing co-development opportunities with our research and technology partners in Silicon Valley. Together we invent the products of tomorrow.

Senior Success in 2014

Our members continued to love us in 2014. 91% of customers were highly satisfied with our service, and 95% of customers would likely recommend Alert1 to others.

Our Command Center is available 24/7 to help our members. Last year there were a total of 53,248 calls to our Command Center. We pride ourselves on our excellent response time - we do not make our members wait. Even pull cords in assisted living facilities make you wait 10 times longer than an Alert1 medical alert. Getting help fast is crucial in emergencies, and Alert1’s average response time is 22 seconds.

Even seniors who live with other people use senior medical alert systems. A medical alert is always there, even if the house is empty or the user is in the bathroom.  46% of dispatches in 2014 were from people who did not live alone.

We Love Our Senior Members

Who are our members? While most of our members are older adults, we protect people of all ages, from 14 to 108! We are grateful that our members choose to stay with us for an average of 3.7 years.

Why do our members choose us? They love the peace of mind they get with Alert1. The majority of our members buy senior medical alert systems to keep their loved ones safe. They trust us to take care of their loved ones when they can’t be nearby.

Completely Customizable Senior Care

Our members can completely customize their protection, from who responds in an emergency to the range of their system. Our friendly senior care specialists help our members decide which system is best for them and their loved one.

Our members most often choose to upgrade to our fall detection system. Fall detection increases their protection by automatically calling the Command Center if it senses a fall.

Our second most popular accessory is the Lock Box. It stores household keys and lets EMS enter the house without breaking down any doors. That means more security and less fear.

Our members also love the Room and Hallway Button. This wireless emergency button adds extra security and can attach to the wall so that it will never get lost.

Alert1 Seniors Around the Country

From coast to coast, people all over the United States love Alert1! We have noticed some senior trends from state to state.

  • Medical alert systems are not just for seniors that live alone. Texas has the highest percentage of members who live with another person.  You may have heard the term “everything’s bigger in Texas” and Alert1 knows that to be true as we’re largely popular in this southern state. Family caregivers and seniors know Alert1 is there 24/7, in the instance that your friends and family aren’t available.
  • Illinois proves that even seniors in assisted living can use medical alerts. This state has the highest percentage of members who live in assisted living. An emergency can happen anywhere, anytime. Our system can supplement assisted living so that seniors always have peace of mind.
  • We love our Massachusetts members! In fact, Boston is one of the best cities for aging in place. This state has the most members referring a friend.  We love that our members want to share feelings of security and peace of mind with others.
  • Our Florida members know they can get help anywhere, anytime.  This state has the highest percentage of members who choose our Mobile Medical Alerts.  Our mobile device, Kelsi offers protection both at home and on the go. It uses 911 technology so members do not need to worry about knowing their exact location.

California has the highest percentage of members who choose Fall Detection Medical Alert. Californians love our small, comfortable pendant. Our advanced fall detection technology, offers a reliable lifeline that will signal for help even if they can’t press their button. Alert1 wants to combat the unfortunate reality that one in three older adults experience falls.
