The company was founded in 1988 as AlertOne and started as a family-owned business with the goal of providing high quality medical alert services to customers in the Williamsport, Pennsylvania region. Williamsport is a small town which is best known for hosting the Little League World Series. After gaining popularity and trust within the town, Alert1 quickly became one of the largest medical alert providers in the mid-Atlantic states.

Over the next two decades, AlertOne expanded and grew into a national provider of medical alert services. Early on we decided that unlike some of our competitors, we would focus solely on medical alert systems. This has enabled us to give our customers the best service and care possible. For example, Alert1 was the first company to offer a voice extender so our customers with larger homes could speak to our emergency response operators from even remote rooms in their homes. We were also the first company to develop a wall mount button for those customers that needed help even if they weren’t wearing their help buttons.
Certified US-Based Emergency Response Centers
The Alert1 commitment to high quality service and training is particularly important for our emergency response centers. Alert1 has partnered with a company that has specialized in emergency monitoring for the past 28 years. This partner has two redundant emergency monitoring centers, both located in the United States, that are capable of providing support even if a natural or man-made disaster takes one of their centers offline. These monitoring centers are CSAA Five Diamond Certified, which means they undergo a rigorous certification process each year and commit to quality standards. Additionally, the centers are subject to random inspections by a nationally recognized testing laboratory. All operators are US-based English speakers and have access to a team of translators that can speak 50 other languages in addition to English.
