From AlertOne to Alert1
Over 20 years ago AlertOne began as a small family owned business with the goal of providing great service locally. We quickly became one of the largest providers in our region and became the preferred choice of many people. Some of those early customers are still being monitored today.
Building on this success we began to design and manufacture our own medical alert products. Our goal of providing great service remained, but our local vision soon became national as we continued to grow. In just a few short years AlertOne was distributing its medical alarms to more than 300 resellers across the nation and was considered to be one of the largest (if not the largest) wholesale medical alarm distributor in the nation. With over 200,000 devices in service it soon became apparent that AlertOne knew the medical alarm business.
We believe this growth was a result of our commitment to providing great service. This commitment prompted exciting innovations in our industry. For almost thirty years the medical alarm industry was using non-voice alarms, what this means is that when you pressed the button the monitoring center would have to call your home phone. We didn't think this was the best design for our customers or us. So we developed a two-way voice medical alarm that allowed you to talk directly to the monitoring operator without having to pick up the phone.

We didn't invent the two-way voice medical alarm, but we did make it affordable and this created a dramatic change in our industry and today only one or two companies even offer a medical alarm without two-way voice. We built this believing that two-way voice is better for the customer, allowing for a better response to their emergency and the opportunity to get help more quickly. Even some of the largest companies in this industry soon followed us.
Nearly every product development at AlertOne began with our customers. We listened to our customers, their compliments, their concerns, and even their criticisms. Thanks to our customers this has resulted in AlertOne truly being a leader in product development and customer service. We were the first company to offer remote speakers so our customers could hear us in more parts of the home, we were the first company to develop a wall mount button for those customers that might not always wear their button, we were the first company to use a temperature sensor to monitor unsafe temperatures and, we're not done.
Today our products are still used by many medical alarm providers. Also, our products are used in retirement communities nationwide and by retirement community developers. Every week our list of hospitals, home health providers, doctors, and various health care professionals recommending AlertOne medical alarms grows.
Recently we updated our look and shortened our name to Alert1 (it's a little easier for everyone)! We still have the same affordable products, America's most trusted service and the same fantastic people. We can honestly tell you that we are not the biggest, but thousands of satisfied customers will tell you that we probably just are the best.
